Brain to computer interface (BCI) also known as mind machine interface (MMI) is the means to interact with computers via brain signals picked up by sensors. The signals picked up by the sensors are made into patterns that speak to the programs or software in a computer system. This pattern recognition is referred to as algorithms. Of course I am being overly simplistic. There’s a lot that is going on in computer science under the hood of this bad boy! But, enough said. All we need to understand here is that it is not only possible to speak to computer systems through our brain activity, but it is also more commonly available than a lot of people probably know about.
